Top esports collegiate teams from across the state gathered at XL Live in Harrisburg on Saturday, Feb. 15, to take part in the Pennsylvania Esports State Championship, better known as the Pa. Cup Finals.

Participating colleges included Harrisburg University, Messiah College, Juniata College, the Pa. College of Technology, Penn State University and Temple University.

In addition, and for the first time, high school teams from Bishop McDevitt, Spring Grove, Susquehanna Township and York School of Technology competed in a special high school series of matches.

The event consisted of teams pitting off in two different video games: League of Legends and Overwatch. Both are team-based battle games that pit one group of players against another.
